The example was set for us by our founder, William H. Wills. Before he began his career in insurance he worked as a simple shoestore clerk. Mr. Wills, however, was anything but average. In time, he became a leading citizen of Vermont. One of two state governors from Bennington County, he was elected governor from 1941 to 1945.

Our company moved to its present location in Bennington, Vermont, in 1950. David Newell, Jr. CPCU, is the fifth and current president of Wills Insurance.
